Over the years...

"Always look into ways to enrich your life." used to be the mantra of the moral science teachers of my school.

Initial years I would carry a frown and a confused look, but as the years added on; I realized the true meaning!

Studying in a convent school had its perks since being of service came upon early, along with the environment of my home which was very nourishing as my parents not only took care of my natural nutrition but also fed my soul the right ingredients to carry forth the idea of living my purpose with gratitude.

Grateful and acknowledgement!

How can someone always be FULL of praises, and lend a helping hand to ALL?

Ever wonder!
Do such people even exist in the first place?

Meet his beautiful woman, Charli Mills. An individual who is the classic example of the above.
This gentle soul has a smile that is so magnificent that it can light up the distance in miles from where we both live. Such is the genuineness of her smile!

Recently, Charli Mills, the founder of Rough Writers, and 99 words flash fiction who was my beta reader and agreed to do an editorial review for my recent book, "Voyagers into the unknown", was all praises for the book in her current blog.

Her flash fiction prompts will stimulate your brain as you try to keep it within 99 words while attempting to have fiction in it.

Join in that fun, since I have grown a lot as a writer courtesy those flash fictions!

Attaching a Link for you to subscribe to her CarrotRanch newsletter where the different writers who have participated in her prompts get highlighted.

Psst...she showcased my work  amongst many in one of her newsletters!

Read and grow via these subscriptions, and eventually join in the fun at the Ranch with your creative pen.

She will greet you with open arms, and her beautiful community of writers will inspire and give you space to grow!

Did I mention that she has a Bunkhouse Bookstore
Books written/published by the Rough Writers and Friends are featured here. You will get a glimpse of their work via other reviewers, and I guarantee you that you will like at least one book to read and treasure!

She is also lending her name to a noble cause: Check this out and trust me, it is a win-win situation for all. Do participate and not only get some karma points, but also grow as a writer.

I end this note with gratitude to my virtual friend, confidante and mate.  I acknowledge all her hard work towards keeping us under one roof as Rough Writers as we trudge along in our respective lives and time zones.

Sometimes Virtual friends could be angels in disguise since they have only seen your smiles from a distance but don't know the fits you throw in person.

Although, Charli I assure you that I am not so much as the above statement, thus keep the intention to meet you in person some day!

Mantra for today: A smile, a hug can create an impact even if it is virtual. Such is the effect of kindness!

Wordless Wednesday #120

When Mother Nature pours, even the sidewalks show their gratitude.

As I strolled around on the warm sunny streets, I was grateful for the freedom to be able to jaunt at leisure while some brethren crave for this noun as it puts them in confinement either due to political unrest or health issues.

Mantra for today: “Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.”
― Marcel Proust

Wordless Wednesday #107

We have been getting showers, and the result is not only relief to the soil and the souls, but we have seen lot of rainbows too!

Whenever I notice one, I always feel that a fairy has sprinkled some pixie dust, and voila!

With a New Year around the corner, may we all embrace these colors in our lives, and eliminate the darkness, the negativity by transforming for the better!

Mantra for today: Benevolence can only be followed if there is appreciation within.

Gratitude, Obligation.
Thus, clean and apprize.

A couple of Sneezes and Gratitude

Annie was rubbing her nose briskly with her gloved hand as the other paw was digging the soil and aerating it.

Achoo!
Achoo!

Aha! Much better.

With watery eyes, but a broad smile she continued playing with the dirt and securely placed the roots of a plant while bringing the grime together.

With an arch, she watered the plant gently and hummed a lullaby as if welcoming the new life she rooted recently.

After repeating the above scenario few times.
She appreciated all the flowerpots from a distance cause once life will bloom, will be worth all the sneezes.

Thank heavens, all living creatures have the freedom to live, breathe and express!

Wordless Wednesday #60

I always get a feeling of appreciativeness when I see hands joined.

It not only symbolizes hope, and forgiveness, but also the gratitude towards each breath we take and continue to conduct our duties in this lifetime.

Mantra for today: Embrace being grateful since it is the root of happiness!

Memories

Memories are made when our brain cells register an  incident.

This incident could be a pleasurable or a miserable one, thus labeling our memory to be a pleasant or ugly.

Unfortunately, when a human is asked to go down memory lane, he will usually spit out the hurtful memories first and then maybe come out the good memories.

Science does not distinguish unhealthy versus goodness in our brain cells. Then why is man always thinking of the ugly things first that made a memory?

It is our subconsciousness.

We register the ugliness first and take the pleasurable one for granted. Thus, when given a chance vomit out the unpleasant memories.

If we show gratitude towards every incident, we will be able to register the righteous over the bad.

Mantra for today: Gratitude towards each situation can make a person humble.

How do you value freedom?

Freedom has lately been in the news.

Many of us use this noun for granted and crib about other issues.

  • Ask those soldiers who fight in harsh temperatures and unfriendly environment to keep their civilians safe.
  • Ask those innocent people who have been imprisoned by unjust laws of a country.
  • Ask a neighborhood where people are instructed to stay indoors because of a civilian who has gone berserk and is carrying a weapon and has injured a few.
  • Ask people who are suffering from a disease and have been instructed to stay indoors cause of their low immunity.
  • Ask those people who have been chained inside a house for 10 long years, while undergoing physical and emotional abuse.
  • Ask people who are dependent on others for their care since they are weak and in poor physical condition.
Mantra for today: Freedom is precious, do not take it for granted. Show your gratitude towards it.

Gratitude is the acknowledgment of your existence.

Life is becoming  unpredictable.

Thanks to the negative energy that surrounds some of the brethren.

That makes them do unthinkable acts.

Result

Precious, innocent souls lose their physical bodies.

Be grateful for each day!

Mantra for today: Gratitude keeps us grounded.

Back Pack

Each day we carry something in our back pack to work or play or even to run some errands.

I am referring to this back pack as a visionary one!  The one that is on our minds.

Usually, people make sure to equip themselves with their priceless objects such as phone (essential item), branded watch, handbag etc.

Besides remembering to adorn  objects; what else do you think of dressing up your mind and body with?

How about Gratitude, Appreciation for our present condition, and Benediction. That will take us miles before we rest.

Mantra for today: Materialistic things have a shelf life. Cling to something that is deep rooted and ingrained.
